Mending Pottery
Mending Pottery is inspired by Cypriot embroidery. There are two craft mediums, embroidery and ceramics, combined to create a new visual language that merges traditional techniques with contemporary expression. This approach draws on the rich cultural history of embroidery while exploring the tactile, sculptural nature of ceramics to form a dialogue between the past and present. The result is a unique blend of textures, forms, and stories that challenge conventional boundaries in both
craft and design.
Ordinary: Reframed
In this project, Jeong Inn Moon and I explored how small, everyday objects can take on new meanings when taken out of context. We photographed them using a macro lens, then projected the images onto different surfaces, both indoors and outdoors.
By playing with scale, light, and movement, we reimagined the objects in unexpected ways. As a final outcome, we created a video and a printed catalog that documented the process and gave space to each object’s new visual identity.
Captain’s Log
Captain’s Log is a book that explores a dataset of shipwrecks, artifacts, and numismatic finds along the Western Australian coast, collected by the WA Shipwrecks Museum. The book is structured into three chapters, each focusing on different aspects of these discoveries.
Interconnected
Interconnected is an Arduino project where I explored the relationship between nature and technology through moss. Using a moisture sensor, I measured the moisture levels in real time and translated those values into sound.
The sound responded to changes in moisture, creating a simple system that reveals how moss interacts with its environment, turning invisible communication into something we can hear.
Lemme See
Lemme See is a zine publication created in collaboration with Vanja Lazaveric, exploring the concept of portraiture through our conversations. These discussions, often marked by miscommunication and awkward moments, were translated into a visual and typographic form using a scanner, reflecting the misunderstandings and the absence of clear communication in the process.
Apparent Path
Apparent Path is a personal project where I explored the movement of the sun through cyanotype printing and a camera obscura I built myself. I developed the final results through a lot of testing and prototyping, adjusting distance and pinhole size to find
the right balance.
The prints show lines and dots created by the sun’s movement over time. Each image is shaped by light, distance, exposure, and the size of the pinhole, making every print slightly different.
This project started from my interest in analog photography and printmaking, and it became a way for me to experiment with time, light, and image-making using physical materials and hands-on methods.
Moral Absolute
Moral Absolute is a photo series that explores how women are often stigmatized after losing their virginity, reflecting a cultural belief that equates virginity with purity. The work critiques this notion, offering a contemporary perspective on how such expectations continue to shape women’s identities and value in society.
Messages From the Shrooms
Messages from the Shrooms is a zine publication created in collaboration with Jakub Chevenko. Together, we explored the mysteries, folklore, history, and recipes surrounding Amanita muscaria, with the aim of bringing together different cultures and celebrating this mushroom through a single publication.
The Litttle Rainfrog
The Little Rainfrog is a video interpretation of a haiku poem, using a playful and colorful internet aesthetic inspired by meme GIFs and screen recordings. The video translates the traditional form of haiku into a more accessible, digital language—bringing it into a, mainstream context through humor and visual culture.
